Baby Yoga Poses at Full Circle Yoga are so much fun for all! The baby gurgles and laughter is our live music as we practice yoga together!

At Full Circle Yoga KC, our mommy and me yoga incorporates 4 sections of practice:

  • Baby Massage
  • Mommy Yoga while engaging with baby
  • Mommy and Baby Yoga
  • Shavasana with massage for mommy

A few baby yoga poses that we do together at Full Circle Yoga KC:

Side Plank Variation with baby lying on your mat.  Benefits include:

  • help baby with tracking while you wiggle your fingers
  • help support and build abdominal muscles for mom

Modified Boat Pose with baby sitting in your lap or facing out on your thighs. Benefits include:

  • tummy time for baby if facing out on your thighs
  • Strengthening core for mom

Warrior I with baby in arms facing toward on your thigh or facing outward

  • helps baby practice head control and sitting up
  • Builds leg strength.  Add lifting baby overhead and bend your elbows to bring baby in for a kiss to build arm strength.

Our Bring Your Own Baby (BYOB) Yoga class is an effective way to get to know your body again, while offering  meaningful interaction with your little one.  This class also offers opportunities to build relationships with other moms and/or caregivers who are on this momentous life journey of parenting.

We begin our class with introductions and a question to settle into our practice.  Questions include:

  • What tradition are you looking forward to creating (or have you created) as a family?
  • What’s your favorite book to read together?
  • Give one word to describe how you are today.

Bring Your Own Baby Yoga (BYOB)

March 22, 2017 by Full Circle KC

I’m so excited to offer BYOB baby yoga at Full Circle Yoga KC!! There are so many wonderful benefits for both mom and baby including:

  • Emotional Well-Being-  Let’s face it, motherhood is hard work both physically and emotionally with little sleep, changing hormones, a changing body, and family dynamic changes.  Yoga allows for a quite space to surrender and let go, opportunity to focus on breath and mindfulness.
  • It’s a wonderful opportunity to bond with your little one-  Through songs, movement, and baby massage you and baby have each other’s undivided attention.
  • Promotes better sleep-  for both mama and baby.  What new mom doesn’t need more sleep?!
  • Aides in digestion- movements and massage assist baby’s developing digestive track.
  • Meet other new moms- It really does take a village to raise our little ones.

“Big Baby” Conversations: What You Need to Know

“Big Baby” Conversations: What You Need to Know

It’s not uncommon during pregnancy to hear your provider say, “Your baby might be big.” These words can stir up worry, confusion, and even shift how your birth plan is discussed. Often, this estimation comes from an ultrasound, growth scan, or a physical exam (palpation). But here’s something important to remember: these methods are not […]

Camp, Connection, and Navigating Transitions

Camp, Connection, and Navigating Transitions

As the days ticked down to taking my daughter to camp, I noticed a familiar flutter of anxiety building in my chest. She’s been to camp before, but this year felt different—bigger. Two full weeks away. Twelve hours from home. A whole new state. I can keep myself busy for five days, sure… but twelve? […]
