January 11, 2018 by Full Circle KC

Happy New Year’s From Full Circle Yoga KC!

December 2017 went out with a bang with 10 babies being born! Congratulations to each of you Mamas who delivered little bundles of joy in 2017 and welcome to Motherhood! January 2018 is starting off with an exciting number of new Mamas finding Full Circle Yoga KC.

Full Circle Yoga KC is coming up on its one year anniversary! I can’t believe it’s almost been a year since I started this journey.  There are so many journeys we go through in life, some planned some unexpected.  I try to embrace each one as they come.  You all have been my inspiration this past year as I met you and heard your stories.  I hold your stories with care and deep appreciation. You’ve inspired me to become a better yoga instructor, to be a better listener, to continue to find a balance of relaxation and challenge in our yoga classes.  You even inspire me to run longer as my inner voice says “hey, you tell your Mamas they can do anything for a minute, you can run for one more minute.”  Thank you.

I’m so excited to start a Mama’s Corner starting on the every third Wednesday of every month.  Our first gathering will be February 21st.  We will have BYOB at 9:00 am (PLEASE NOTE CHANGE FROM NORMAL TIME), followed by a time to connect with other Mama’s.  It’s an opportunity to share tricks of the trade as well as the bumps in the road of motherhood and build community as we share in the most rewarding yet most challenging job ever! Snacks will be provided.  Class is $5.00, please register online.

Partner Prenatal Yoga

September 8, 2017 by Full Circle KC

Partner prenatal yoga offers so many mutual benefits to a growing a family. It’s an opportunity to connect with one another and share in the journey of pregnancy.  Partners can be empowered through learning poses and visualization tools that will help support mama during labor and delivery.  Prenatal partner yoga celebrates the partnership and union of two parents preparing to bring life into the world.

Time to Connect- Life gets busy.  There is a lot of work to plan for the arrival of a little one! Sometimes it seems hard to find time to connect and embrace the life experience of pregnancy together.  When I ask mamas what they and their partner do to connect as a family I hear we read books to baby, we listen to music together, at night when we are laying together my partner feels baby move around.  These are all wonderful ways to find time to connect.  Prenatal partner yoga is another grounding way to find shared connection during a time that your lives are changing.   Through sequenced and supported poses and space to give pause to the outside world, partners can connect on a deeper level nourishing the partnership.

Builds Trust and Confidence- There is great wisdom through educating yourself in how you want your birthing journey to be experienced.  Joining a partners prenatal yoga can be educational in learning from others and knowing where one can advocate for their desired birthing journey.  When both partners are armed with knowledge about choices they have during the birthing journey, it becomes empowering, and when we are empowered we trust the inner strength and intuition.

September 14th at 5:45 pm- Partner Prenatal Yoga Class!

This class will bring soon-to-be mama and partner together to bond during this momentous journey of pregnancy. It will offer poses that can be done during labor with the support of partner. It will be fun for all! Hurry…..only 5 couple spots are available and it’s filling quickly! You can reserve and pay online at www.fullcircleyogakc.com. Should I Have A Natural Birth?

August 17, 2017 by Full Circle KC

Should I Have A Natural Birth? This is a decision every mom-to-be will have to decide.  We live in a judgmental society, and advice comes flooding in when it comes to pregnancy and parenting! Ultimately, it’s a personal decision a woman must decide for themselves.  The choice for me was to have a natural birth in the hospital.  I found many advantages in having natural births for both of my children.

Should I Have A Natural Birth?

Should I Have A Natural Birth?

  • It’s the ULTIMATE challenge- It requires everything you’ve got! In prenatal yoga At Full Circle Yoga KC we practice visualization and breathing techniques in every class to prepare you mentally and physically.  I like to think of pregnancy as training for a marathon.  During your pregnancy you are training your body and mind mentally for that momentous birthing journey.  On the day of labor and delivery “the race”, you can put all that you’ve practiced and prepped for to the test.
  • It’s EMPOWERING, that brings a right of passage from expectant mother to MOTHER.  It reminds you of the mama bear strength we as women have within us.
  • You’re PRESENT to feel the whole experience! The good, the bad, and all that in between.
  • It’s CHEAPER!
  • FREEDOM to move about, find poses that help advance your labor and poses that support pain management.
